Holly House Veterinary Clinic, located in Wigan, stands as a notable facility offering a range of veterinary services, including a specialized Veterinary Nurse Training program. Despite its specialization, the clinic has garnered mixed reviews, reflected in its 4.1-star rating from 185 Google reviews.
Positive feedback highlights the clinic's accommodating and compassionate staff, with clients like Jess and Russell commending the attentive service and prompt care provided during emergencies. Helen Bromley's review emphasizes the clinic's empathetic approach, particularly during difficult times such as end-of-life care, with thoughtful gestures like sending condolence cards following the passing of pets.
Conversely, the clinic faces criticism regarding its pricing and some aspects of its veterinary services. Margaret Loughran and Rebecca Tennant express dissatisfaction, pointing to what they perceive as exorbitant fees and a lack of communication. Margaret's review is particularly scathing, criticizing the clinic's physical state and questioning the competence of its veterinarians, although she acknowledges the proficiency of the nursing and administrative staff.
While the clinic has its supporters and detractors, the reviews suggest a need for improvement in transparency around pricing and perhaps in the consistency of its veterinary services. Potential clients might appreciate the clinic's specialized training offerings and the positive experiences of some pet owners, but should also weigh these against the concerns raised about cost and communication.

If I could give zero stars or minus I would. This is the most incompetent set of Vets I have ever encountered in my 65 years of owning pets. I should have followed my gut instinct the first visit when a veterinary surgeon took 5 yes FIVE attempts to get blood out of my dogs chest. Promising to ring with blood results, Never Did I constantly had to ring over & over. Extortionate charges & complete lack of interest in my precious 14 year old dog. The surgery is a dump, scruffy with wood panels around the desk falling off & is crying out for at least a lick of paint The nursing staff are brilliant & so are the girls on appointment desk but the VETS are a completely different story. So please be warned & to add insult to injury They are also the most expensive. View how many others have given them ONE STAR .

Actually deserves Zero stars!!! This was my first visit to the practise and the staff were helpful and the vet seemed great with my dog. However, I must say that I am utterly shocked at the amount they have charged. I cannot understand how they can charge over £50 for a consultation when generally a consultation is between £20 - £30? We brought a sample of urine in which the vet tested, however we have been charged £55 for this? My other dog had 2 urine samples done with a different vets in October last year and each were £16? I had to ask for an invoice which mentioned SG and Microscopy but the vet made no mention of this to us? Finally I am at a loss as to how they can charge £122 for 28 Antibiotics that online are a third of the price? Given that my dog has been diagnosed with a minor urine bacterial infection, I cannot understand why she would need 2 weeks of these tablets given that my 13 year old husky (who was at end of life and very frail) was prescribed only 7 tablets that cleared up his urine infection which was much worse. Having read other reviews online, there seems to be a consensus that this practice is charging way over the average and adding unnecessary charges on a regular basis. I sent an email regarding this and have had no response at all. Extremely poor service at a cost of over £320 for flea and worm tablets and a minor water infection.

We took our beautiful cat Sophie who was well along in years at age 19. The lovely vet reassured us that putting her to sleep was the kindest option considering the quick onset of her symptoms. We were allowed time to say goodbye then she was peacefully put to sleep. How surprised we were when we got a beautiful condolence card in the post a few days later from the vet. Such a kind and thoughtful gesture. Thank you so much 😊
